3 Days and 3 Nights

Open Arms’ Christmas campaign features Fundación Épica and La Fura

From December 12 to 14, 2025, in Plaça del Mar in Barcelona, the awareness-raising action “3 Days and 3 Nights” took place, an initiative promoted by Open Arms with artistic direction by La Fura dels Baus and in collaboration with the Épica Foundation La Fura dels Baus.
This experiential action installed a real dinghy as a public display, in which ten volunteers lived together for 56 hours under conditions similar to those of migratory crossings in the Mediterranean: reduced space, cold, constant exposure, and limited resources.

The action was not a performance, but rather a proposal for awareness and visibility: its aim was to bring citizens closer to the extreme hardship faced by thousands of people each year as they attempt to reach Europe in precarious vessels, often confronting life-threatening situations. The action was streamed live during the entire 56 hours.

The collaboration of the Épica Foundation in this project strengthened the bridge between art and social commitment, highlighting the importance of activating public spaces to reflect on global realities.
“3 Days and 3 Nights” thus positions itself as an action that transcends the visual to become an ethical call not to look away from these kinds of stories.
