Collaboration FIB-UPC

During the period between January 2019 and January 2020, Épica Foundation participates with the students of the Faculty of Computer Engineering of the UPC to work around a crossmedia application and its interconnection with the Internet of things and Smart Cities, to personalized communication in large audiences in a show. Focusing research on new formats to access new audiences in cultural shows through mobile technology. The Kalliópê app is the starting point where you can expand the interaction. The Foundation proposes challenges to students so that they can carry out experiments with a real goal in mind.

In this way, the Faculty of Computer Engineering of the UPC as a technological sector benefits from its participation and collaboration with the Foundation, by having access to a new laboratory beyond those located within the university. A space for real and risk-free experimentation, where art allows the generation of new artificial environments to validate their new proposals and technological solutions, find new use cases and even validate acceptance by society. At the same time, it allows generating spaces for neutral debate on their impact on society and with society, based on the transfer of knowledge.
